CAR RESTRAINT SAFETY

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR CAR RESTRAINT

About 70% of child restraints in Australia are not installed correctly. To protect your child, it is important to have your car seat installed correctly. And that it is used correctly on every trip.

St Kilda Mums, in partnership with the Transport Accident Commission, would like to share some important tips for your child’s safety:

Firstly - which car seat do you have?

Rearward Facing Car Seat

Babies under 6 months must use a rearward-facing restraint

Forward Facing Car Seat

Children 6 months to 4 years must use either a rearward or forward-facing restraint

Booster Seat

Children 4 to 7 years must use either a forward-facing restraint or booster seat
