Copy of Donate goods
St Kilda Mums gratefully receives goods donations for babies and children that are in excellent, clean condition. Please see the list of what we can rehome below to check what you have to donate, and email us with any questions.
We are closed for dropping off goods donations during lockdown (you can book an appointment here for after the lockdown).
During lockdown we can receive donations via courier and online shopping orders. Our volunteers that host local drop off points are paused during lockdown.
There are 4 easy ways to donate:
1. Drop off to the warehouse by appointment
We are closed for donation drop offs during the lockdown. Please book here your appointment for when the lockdown ends.
If you have a cot, car seat, high chair, bassinet or pram to donate, we firstly need you to check the safety guidelines and email a photo to us as described in the list below.
If you have items that can be posted we would be so grateful if you could use this option.
Our address is:
14 Winterton Road
Clayton VIC 3168
3. Local drop off points
Our local drop off points can't accept your donations during lockdown. Please hold on to them for when the lockdown ends.
We have volunteers around Melbourne who host drop off points at their homes/businesses. Please email us a list of everything you have to donate along with the suburb where you live/work and we will provide the contact details of the nearest volunteer.
4. Courier
We can arrange a courier service in metropolitan Melbourne, subject to availability, for $30 (to cover costs). Please email us a list of everything you have to donate and we will send you the booking link.

We can rehome a bassinet if it less than 10 years old, has a wide stable base and has firm sides at least 400mm high, with large breathable panels on both sides. The fabric must be easy to remove for washing. This is an example of the type of bassinet that we can rehome. Cleaning tips here.
Please include a firm snug fitting like new mattress, which should be no more than 75mm high.
We do not rehome cradles, cane baskets or Moses baskets, or any bassinet over 10 years old.
Vintage bassinets are sought after by collectors of antique dolls, so we recommend you list on Gumtree or Ebay.

✴️ Carseats
Please email us a photo of the date of manufacture for the car seat. The date of manufacture sticker can look like a black and white barcode sticker on the sides, back or base, or like a small silver rectangle sticker on the instruction panel. Thanks for your assistance.
We can rehome capsules, reversibles, toddler seats and booster seats that have tether straps. We can't rehome foam booster seats, foldable booster seats or any car seats that don't have tether straps. They all must have the red sticker for the standard AS/NZS1754, not have been involved in an accident and be manufactured at most 8 years ago to allow a period of safe use to the family who will receive them.
This is critical for safety because the plastic on carseats deteriorates with time, so they actually expire. Please note that often retailers sell carseats manufactured a couple of years before, so you need to check the manufacture date and not the date you bought it. Please read our article for more information about the importance of car seats.
❌CDs and DVDs for children
We can't rehome CDs and DVDs. Please donate to your local op shop.
✅ Change mats
We can rehome foam, vinyl covered change mats in excellent condition.

Please check our article for more information about change table safety.

We appreciate the thought and time that goes into choosing and preparing your donations to us
We rehome children's clothing in excellent condition from birth to size 16. Please check it is freshly laundered (see why) and packed into bags with the size and gender clearly labelled to help us rotate stock as quickly as possible. If clothing or linen has been in storage, it's important that it is washed again before donating to us.If you are not sure whether your clothing donation is suitable or not, a good barometer is would you give it to the children of a good friend? Our clothing bags are gifts and we want the mum who receives the bag to feel that she has a good friend who cares.
We accept pyjamas and sleepwear but not ones with hoods. We also accept gro-bags or infant sleeping bags, but only those with holes for arms, and again no hoods. We can rehome children's shoes, from baby to about 10 years. Please clean soles and polish leather uppers. Must be in near new condition.

We rehome linen for cots such as flat and fitted sheets, mattress protectors and blankets, as well as baby towels. Please note that we do not rehome soft bedding such as pillows, quilts, duvets and bumpers as these increase the risk of sudden unexpected infant death. They may cover the baby's face and obstruct breathing or cause overheating. Older babies in a cot can be at an increased risk of a sleeping accident by using pillows and bumpers to climb up and fall out of the cot. It is safer to wait until the child starts to sleep in a bed before introducing a pillow or other soft bedding. For more information please refer to Red Nose Foundation.

Please wrap it up in an old sheet or plastic to keep it clean during transport. Please read our article for more information.
✴️ Cot
Please email us a photo of the cot and of the date of manufacture stamp on the base, and advise the make and model, because some cots have been recalled.
